Theatre 1 & 2
Our Theatre 1 and 2 classes offer students an engaging introduction to the world of performing arts. In Theatre 1, students focus on building foundational acting skills, stage presence, and an understanding of basic theatrical concepts through improvisation, scene work, and monologues. Theatre 2 dives deeper, allowing students to explore character development, advanced acting techniques, and ensemble work through dance and vocal training.
Both classes emphasize creativity, collaboration, and self-expression, encouraging students to develop confidence both on and off the stage.

Theatre 2- Theatre 1 OR 2 years of Jr. High Theatre
Advanced Theatre
(by audition)
The Advanced Theatre class at Dos Pueblos Theatre Company is an intensive program designed to cultivate well-rounded performers, also known as triple threats—students who excel in singing, acting, and dancing. This course challenges students to develop their skills across all three disciplines, preparing them for dynamic performances on stage. Through rigorous training, personalized coaching, and collaborative projects, students are equipped to handle the demands of professional-level musical theatre and grow as versatile artists.

Students must complete Theatre 2 before they are eligible to audition for Advanced Theatre (space is limited)

Stagecraft
(all grades/skill levels)
In our stagecraft class, students explore the technical aspects of theater, focusing on set construction, lighting, sound, props, and costumes. They learn hands-on skills by building scenic pieces with traditional techniques and managing backstage operations for school productions. The class emphasizes creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration, giving students a deeper understanding of how all the elements work together to bring a performance to life.

Play Production/Play Production PE
Play Production is an audition-based course focused on rehearsing and performing the school’s Spring Musical. This fifth-period class meets after school during the spring semester and requires students to participate in the full rehearsal and performance process. Students will develop skills in acting, singing, movement, and character development while working collaboratively to prepare a polished production for a public audience. The class emphasizes rehearsal discipline, teamwork, and consistent participation. Students are expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performances.
Prerequisite: Audition and instructor approval.
